Meghalaya Focus+ Scheme 2022: The Meghalaya government has launched the Focus+ scheme to benefit every family across the state.

Under this Focus Plus scheme, the state government will provide Rs 5000 to each family. This new Focus+ scheme has been launched by Chief Minister Konrad Sangma on 28 July 2022 as an extension of his flagship initiative Focus.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma launched the FOCUS+ initiative to benefit all families across Meghalaya.

In its new format, Focus+ will provide an opportunity for households to undertake additional activities and contribute to agricultural value chain development. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs.5,000 per family will be provided directly to the bank account of the beneficiary.

Focus+ scheme launched

The Focus+ scheme was launched at an event at Resubelpara in North Garo Hills. This Focus Plus scheme will provide assistance to a large section of the rural population of Meghalaya and will try to transform the lives of the people of the state.

The Meghalaya government is on course to realize its dream of being among the top 10 states in 10 years.

According to the government, the state is already making rapid progress on various parameters including achieving a top rating in NITI Aayog’s Innovation Index and ranking among the best in the startup ecosystem, global awards, and recognition.

Speaking at the event, Conrad Sangma said, “Meghalaya has been making steady progress on various fronts in the last four and a half years, one of our major priority areas is our farmers.

Our farmers’ assistance initiative FOCUS has provided the much-needed impetus to scale up agricultural activities, the results of which are in front of everyone.

Initiatives such as mission mode projects in Lakadong, Pig farming, Milk, Spices, Ginger, Fragrance, and others are providing the necessary means to build a support system for our farmers with farm-to-market interventions.

“The focus is very close to my heart, as it has helped a large section of our farming community! And Focus+ will provide much-needed support to empower every family in rural Meghalaya to realize their true potential. The scheme will provide Rs 5,000 cash benefits to families across the state. This is part of our vision to bring all our farmers under the theme of collectivization and help double their income through various interventions, Sangma said.
