Pensioners Life Certificate: Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has given new relief to pensioners regarding the submission of life certificates. Pensioners can now submit life certificates anytime. According to the information received, whenever the pensioners submit the certificate, it will be valid for one year from that date. EPFO has informed on its official Twitter handle that pensioners can now submit life certificates at any time, which will be valid for 1 year from the date of submission. Pensioners have to submit their life certificates to get their pension without any hindrance. The life certificate shows whether the pensioner is alive or has died. A pensioner can submit his life certificate by visiting his nearest Common Service Center. Apart from this, deposits can also be made in banks and post offices. For online submission of Jeevan Pramaan, pensioners will have to first register for Digital Jeevan Pramaan through Jeevan Pramaan Kendra run by a bank, post office, or any other government agency. In this registration, a unique ID will be created through the Aadhaar and biometrics of the pensioners. Once this ID is generated, pensioners can submit the Jeevan Pramaan online through Pension Disbursing Bank, UMANG App, or Common Service Center. Apart from this, pensioners can submit life certificates digitally by visiting Jeevan Pramaan portal https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in after this ID is generated. A life certificate is the proof of survival of the pensioner. The pension can be withheld if it is not deposited. If the pensioner is re-employed or the family pensioner is remarried, then the life certificate has to be submitted in physical format only. Jeevan Pramaan is not valid for their whole life. After the expiry of the validity period, a new certificate is required.
