Pradhan Mantri matritva Vandana Yojana 2023: The Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana was implemented on 1 January 2017 to control maternal mortality and infant mortality. Under Pradhan Mantri matritva vandana yojana, an incentive amount of Rs 5000 is given to a woman who conceives for the first time to keep the pregnant woman and the unborn baby healthy. In matritva vandana yojana, the incentive amount is given in three installments. The first installment is entitled to one thousand as soon as the woman is registered at the health center within 150 days of the detection of pregnancy. The second installment of two thousand rupees is sent to the bank account on behalf of the government after six months of pregnancy. And the third installment of two thousand is sent to the woman's account after the child is 42 days old. Objective To provide compensation for loss of wages to working women and to ensure their proper rest and nutrition. Improving the health of pregnant women and lactating mothers and reducing the impact of undernutrition through cash incentives. Encouraging women to follow early and exclusive breastfeeding and nutrition practices for the first six months. Benefits Pradhan Mantri matritva vandana yojana will benefit pregnant women and lactating mothers during the birth of their first live child. The benefit amount of matritva vandana yojana will be sent directly to the bank account of the beneficiary through DBT. As per reports, the government will pay the amount in the following installments. 1st installment: Rs.1000 at the time of registration of pregnancy 2nd Installment: Rs.2000, if the beneficiary undergoes at least one antenatal check-up after six months of pregnancy. 3rd Installment: Rs 2000, when the birth of the child is registered and the child begins the first cycle of vaccines including BCG, OPV, DPT, and Hepatitis-B. Pradhan Mantri matritva vandana yojana (PMMVY) will not be applicable for low-category pregnant women and lactating mothers. Those who are in regular employment with the Central or State Government or any Public Sector Undertaking. Those who are recipients of similar benefits under any other scheme or law.
