Matt Ishbia Agrees To Buy Sun For Record $4 Billion

Billionaire mortgage lender Matt Ishbia has agreed to buy

a majority stake in the WNBA's Phoenix Suns

and Mercury for a record price of $4 billion, Ishbia and current

owner Robert Sarver announced Tuesday.

The Deal Will Bring An End To Sarwar's Tumultuous Tenure.

Ishbia is well known and respected in the league's front

office, including commissioner Adam Silver, and has developed

relationships with several NBA owners. Sources said he would have to

go through a background check and an approval vote

from the board of governors, but it is expected to be a formality.
